Oak holds guest data on behalf of the properties that use it. This page says plainly what that means.

This site

This page sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from another company. The fonts and images are served from this site. If you never press a button here, nothing about you is recorded.

Pressing Book a demo opens WhatsApp. What you send there is covered by WhatsApp's own terms, not by this page.

The software

Inside Oak, a property records what a property has always recorded: a guest's name, contact details, their stay, what they were charged and how they paid. Where a property scans a passport or ID, that image is encrypted at rest with a key held separately from everything else.

The property is the owner of its own guest data. Oak stores and processes it on the property's behalf so that the property can run its business.

What Oak does not do

• It does not sell guest data, and it does not share it between properties. Each property sees only its own.
• It does not use guest data to advertise to anyone.
• It does not send guests marketing that their property did not send.

Who else sees it

Where a property switches on OTA sync, the reservation details it needs — the guest's name, dates and rate — pass between Oak and the channel manager so that Booking.com, Expedia and Airbnb can be kept in step. That is the purpose of the feature, and a property that does not use it shares nothing.

Oak runs on servers rented from Hetzner, in Germany.

Support access

To fix a problem, Oak's support may need to look at a property's account. When that happens it is time-limited, it is recorded, and the visit appears in that property's own settings where its staff can read it. Nobody looks at a property's data quietly.

Asking for your data

If you are a guest and want to know what a property holds about you, ask the property — it is their record. If you are a property using Oak and want a copy of your data, or want it deleted when you stop using Oak, ask and it will be provided.
