Why Oak exists

Most hospitality software sold in this market was built for a different market first — a different currency, a different set of OTAs, a different assumption about who is at the front desk and what language they work in — and Tanzania was added on afterwards, if at all. That shows up in small, constant friction: mobile money treated as "other", a channel manager priced as if commission were the only cost, support that runs on a ticket queue in a different time zone.

Oak was built the other way round. M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money and HaloPesa are payment methods from the first line of code, not a workaround. Every screen exists in Swahili and English, because a housekeeper should not have to work a second language to do their job. Prices are quoted and charged in shillings. And the channel-manager fragmentation this whole industry runs on — one room, three extranets, one afternoon spent keeping them in sync — is the specific problem the product opens with, because it is the one every hotelier already recognises.

What "on site when it matters" means

Cloudbeds, Mews and Little Hotelier are real, capable systems, and Oak's feature list is built to stand next to theirs. The difference is what happens when something goes wrong at 21:00 on a Friday: not a ticket number and a queue in a time zone eight hours away, but setup, training and go-live done with a property, not emailed to it — and support that stays reachable in the market it serves.
